AT&T Invites YSAP High School Girls to Participate in National Introduce a Girl to Engineering Day

AT&T GNOC, SOC and Labs Tours with Engineer Job Shadowing to Take Place in Bedminster and Florham Park, NJ on Thursday, February 18th

As part of Engineers Week 2010, February 14-20, AT&T will celebrate National Introduce a Girl to Engineering Day on Thursday, February 18th by inviting local high school girls from the Youth Science Achievers Program to spend the day with AT&T Labs engineers at the AT&T Global Network Operations Center (GNOC), AT&T Security Operations Center (SOC) and the AT&T Tech Channel in Bedminster, New Jersey and at AT&T Labs in Florham Park, New Jersey. You will get a behind-the-scenes glimpse into the world of network, software and sound engineering at world-class research, development and network operations facilities. You will also meet with women engineers who have advanced science and technology throughout their careers. Come see how cool everyday work is for them at AT&T Labs!
If you are a high school girl who is interested in participating, please apply by sending your full name, parent(s)’ or guardian(s)’ full name(s), a phone number and email address where you can be reached along with a 100-word or less paragraph on why you think there should be more women in science and engineering fields.
Important note: you will be required to provide your own transportation to AT&T in Bedminster, NJ arriving at 8:00 AM on 2/18 and from AT&T in Florham Park, NJ departing at 3:30 PM on National Introduce a Girl to Engineering Day at the below addresses:

AT&T will provide lunch and transportation from Bedminster to Florham Park.
Applications will be reviewed by AT&T Labs representatives and up to 10 student candidates will be notified of their selection to participate by Monday, February 15th. Parent permission and video/photo release forms must be signed by parents and students and returned in advance. Students and parents should notify school teachers and administration of their participation in this weekday extracurricular activity. A formal letter of invitation will be provided by AT&T for use with the attendance office.
